The women were going through the normal duties of life, yet looking for Jesus.  Anointing a dead body with spices was not a joyous duty, but it was part of the customary routine of life.  They set out early in the morning to anoint Jesus’s body. What they found far exceeded their wildest dreams! Instead of a dead teacher and friend, they found a living Lord!

Jesus will also meet with us in the normal routines of our life.  If we keep our heart’s eyes and ears receptive to His presence, He will meet us.  His presence, His words of encouragement, love and guidance will be a balm to our troubled souls and bring such peace and joy!
