I had heard of COVID -19, but wasn’t focused on it. I had much to accomplish, including getting some groceries. Little did I know that both God’s word and the fear of others would have an impact on my life.
Before I left my home, I had my regular quiet time with God. God gave me the clear message that I was not to be afraid. I entered my day with that on my mind, not knowing that panic and fear swirled through the Rogue Valley and beyond. I went to WinCo, our main grocery store, and was shocked to find the parking lot full – more than at Christmas! As I walked toward the store another customer and I jested about the excess of people at that early hour of the morning. Inside, some shelves were unusually empty, but I was not alarmed. God had told me not to be afraid, and I claimed His directive. I knew He was with me, protecting me, and that He would provide for my every need as it arose.
As I exited the store I was so thankful I had taken the time to meet with God and had heard His words, “Do not be afraid.” His message gave me inner peace and security when I could have been overwhelmed by fear and panic. His message continues to be a reassuring haven as I go through my days. May we all meet with Him daily, and receive the strength and guidance He desires to give.
Ephesians 3:20, 21 “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
